Elviira Davidow

Puppet show director, performing artist, puppet builder and the other one of the founders of Kataputli. Davidow studied dancing for ten years among other things in The Dancing School of Amsterdam. After that she decided to combine all the things she was interested in: dancing, visual arts, circus and all the other forms of performing arts, and begun to study puppet theatre. She studied in DAMU (the Puppet Theatre School of Prague) and in Turku Academy of Arts. The studies lasted for six years. Her main interest has been shadow theatre, of which she has made investigation about among others in India, where shadow theatre was born.

Nowadays Elviira works as the artistic leader of Kataputli. She also teaches puppet theatre around Kainuu and works as an executive director in the project of creative activity for unemployed youngsters.
